FlySpiggle is approved as Language Assessment Body (LAB) for pilots by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities (BCAA).

Locations
You can take your assessment online via Zoom from any location, in person at our facilities in Gent, Antwerp or Hasselt, or at a location of your choice. We aim to make the experience as smooth and convenient as possible.
What to expect
The assessment
The assessment begins with a scenario-based R/T test that simulates a complete flight from engine start to shutdown. You act as the pilot, while the operational assessor takes on the role of ATC. You are provided with a realistic flight scenario, including departure and arrival airports, route, altitude, and available radio frequencies.
The second part is a plain language assessment, where your proficiency is evaluated in an interview conducted jointly by the operational and linguistic assessors. You are assessed against the ICAO linguistic skills, with a focus on your ability to understand written aviation material and communicate effectively on aviation topics beyond standard ICAO phraseology.
How your performance is evaluated
Grading
Your assessment is graded in real time by the assessors throughout the session using the ICAO rating scale. In most cases, the assessors reach a consensus immediately, and your result is communicated directly after the assessment, including feedback.
If the assessors cannot immediately agree on a final level, the result follows an additional review process. In such cases, your outcome will still be confirmed and communicated within 24 hours.
